Today’s
enterprises need new methods of developing trust in a virtual world.
Wherever Internet access is available, business operations can
occur. However, with expanded access to networks, enterprises are
finding it increasingly difficult to authenticate who someone is.
Doing business in the virtual world means
that many business operations require some form of authentication to
ensure that an authorized employee, customer, or partner is the one
performing the operation. As well as being concerned about
identifying authorized parties, enterprises are also becoming
increasingly worried about ensuring and maintaining the security of
proprietary information and privacy protection.

Security operations are provided through BOSS™ and eBOSS™. These systems provide access and access
control functions using authentication, authorization, and credential processing capabilities unmatched within the industry.
The eBOSS™ system provides secure web based access to the Enterprise desktop. The desktop is the same
regardless of the means or location of access. This not only enhances productivity on the part of the user but also allows increased
control of and confidence in the security of the Enterprise network.
The hardware platform is a HP Himalaya NonStop™ Server. This platform provides the best availability rating
in the industry due to its architecture and fault tolerance. This server platform has a maintenance and availability record
second to none.
Ironically, complex and costly authentication and authorization systems have become an unexpected consequence
of the technological advances that expand business efficiencies and market opportunities. Enterprises deploy dozens of applications
which creates scores of fragmented user repositories with different authentication procedures.
This is becoming a problem for the enterprise from a cost and manageability standpoint and users find it
very difficult to keep up with the need to remember multiple user names and passwords.
The bottom line is that numerous non-standard authentication and authorization mechanisms create
inefficiencies, security problems, and cost concerns for many of today’s businesses.
